Licensure in Vermont

STANDARDS OF LICENSURE

The Vermont Board of Allied Mental Health Practitioners, located in the Secretary of State's Office of Professional Regulation, licenses certified mental health counselors who have met the criteria set forth in statute and rules promulgated by the Vermont state legislature.

EXAMS

Vermont requires successful completion of both the NCE (National Counselor Examination) and NCMHCE (National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination) for licensure. The exams are created, administered and scored by NBCC (National Board for Certified Counselors).
